Membership

Ordinary membership: is open for individuals who are scholars or bona fide students of African languages and other persons who subscribe to the aims and objectives of the Association. Annual subscription is currently determined at R80.00. Paid-up members receive a copy of the four numbers of SAJAL for the current year, as well as the Supplement (if applicable), newsletter(s) and invitations to Conferences and Seminars.

Corporate membership: for institutions, libraries, publishers, etc. The subscription fee is R170 (local subscription) or US$65 (subscriptions from abroad) for a volume of four numbers. No VAT is payable.

Life membership: any member can become a life member by paying 16 times the given annual amount. No further payment will be required.

Renewal of membership: membership is renewable on an annual base. Members will receive a renewal notice from the Treasurer. This notice has to be returned to the treasurer (link to treasurer’s particulars) together with a cheque or postal order for the appropriate amount. All cheques payable to ALASA. The Treasurer should also be informed of any change of address or other personal details.

How to become a member: Interested parties can apply to join ALASA by completing the applicable form and mailing it directly to the Treasurer.
